On the 2008CeBIT held from March 4 to March 9 when GIGABYTE notebooks were in exhibition, GIGABYTE took the advantage to launch refreshing prototype notebook products with innovative technologies - the 4.8'' MID (Mobile Internet Device) M528 with compact outlook design and outstanding performance, the light-weighted, full-function 7'' UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC ) M700 and M704, as well as the 14.1'' W457N and 15.4'' W583N with minimalist designs.
The GIGABYTE MID M528 has minimal and fashionable style with elegant and compact outlook. It features a 4.8'' LCD monitor with only 340 grams in weight, which is handy to carry on. MID M528 offers superior performance. It has a built-in 3-Mega pixel camera for fun photography and a 300K pixel camera for video conferencing with which consumers are accessible to all the information they need. In addition, the users can connect to the Internet, and send and receive emails as well as instant messages in time using the wireless communication function. QWERTY-based slide keyboard offers a convenient and easier way for handwriting input and e-mail reply. M528 also has a built-in GPS satellite positioning system, providing consumers to rapidly identify and adapt to the surrounding environments any time and anywhere. The GIGABYTE M704 with a lightweight and compact design is a powerful and robust UMPC and receives a clear endorsement from the public. Only 780g in weight, the product comes with 7'' touch LCD monitor, featuring the easiness of being exactly controllable with bare hands. For the exterior of the ultra mobile PC, the GIGABYTE M704 inherits the minimal and elegant style with pure white and fashionable design. The built-in 1.3 Mega pixel camera, in conjunction with the snapshot hotkey, enhances photographing functions, while IEEE 802.11 b/g allows users to surf the Internet, receive and send emails, have video conferences and use GPS without limitation anywhere, making the product the ideal choice for personal entertainment and business applications.
The GIGABYTE M700 is a brand new versatile 3C product with a minimalist and white stylish design in appearance. Its 7'' LED backlight screen with only 650 in weight and built-in Express card slot can support 3.5G and WiMAX. The unique dual-camera design not only offers a display for video communication with friends but also allows users to share image files. Additionally, the products integrates GPS that provides an innovative operating model on the control panel and powerful multimedia functions, allowing users to enjoy a versatile array of unique features and experience the unprecedented convenience of technology.
On the notebook front, GIGABYTE released 14.1'' W457N and 15.4'' W583N prototype notebooks. W457N and W583N have eSATA / USB combo and the next-generation digital transfer interface-HDMI. With "HP Imprint" technology for outlook design, the two notebook models truly excel in both functions and appearances, presenting a perfect combination of fashion and performance. eSATA is the extension of SATA standard interface, and an interface for external SATA, with a transfer rate up to 300 MB/sec, which is far higher than that of USB and FireWire interface. HDMI is a fully digitized signal transfer interface without the need of analog-to-digital conversion and therefore the signal distortion can be avoided. HDMI is thus created with the increasing demands for high definition audio and video.
In 2008, the GIGABYTE will develop notebooks toward small sized UMPC and MID with delicacy and high performance.
